One sentence meme: Babylon 5
Or, the result of having a massive writers' block with something else and trying to break through. The meme is stolen from harmonyangel and slightly modified. (I can't do word limits.)

Try to write different categories of fic (angst, fluff, UST, etc) in one sentence.

I decided to do this for an old fandom of mine, Babylon 5. Trusty readers of this journal will guess what this means: lots of Centauri and G'Kar. (You mean there are non-telepathic human characters in B5? Really?)

Spoilers: definite ones only up to the third season, though some of these take place later.

Disclaimer: Characters and situations owned by JMS and Warner Brothers.

Rating: Err, PG-13 for implications of interspecies sex?

Betraying Londo to Turhan would have prevented the war; Vir remained silent.

The Great Machine on Epsilon III made its choice: Londo agrees.

”We did get married in that Minbari ceremony”, Londo pointed out, “which makes you prince consort of the Centauri, G’Kar.”

”How about just one trip?” the Doctor asks, and Vir, having been promised he’d be back for dinner, enthusiastically agrees.

Mariel thought it was horrid of Londo to call her that without actually making her a widow, but then, he’d always been all foreplay and no results in their marriage.

Episode-Related (Season 3, “Dust to Dust”)

Recognizing Morden in Londo’s memories, G’Kar rages at not having been the Shadows’ choice.

First Time

Kissing him was really the only way to shut Mollari up, and even then he kept talking with his hands, all over G’Kar’s back.

Vir isn’t sure whether cheating at cards is really a quintessential diplomatic skill, but he enjoys Londo teaching him anyway.

”Karaoke” sounded like such a nice word, Vir thinks, and listens in despair as Londo and G’Kar thunder an Earth tune named “Everything you can do, I can do better” at the Dark Star.

Waiting for John and the future to arrive, Delenn and Londo spend most of her captivity talking of the past; occasionally, they forgive each other.

There are scars all over G’Kar’s body; how like a Centauri to touch every single one of them, the Narn thinks, and pushes Londo’s mouth to one he has missed.

Sinclair always feels slightly voyeuristic when presiding over their negotiations; he’d blame his imagination, but Talia looks at him in rueful sympathy while Londo and G’Kar come up with new synonyms for “no”, “yes” and “perhaps”.

even though i have no idea about this fandom at all, i think these are great. particularly the last one, even though it's really two sentences.

Why thanks! As some background explanation, have two essays written (I hope, since I wrote one of them) to introduce the main characters here to people not familiar with them:

Londo Mollari

Enemies and Allies: Londo/G'Kar
Alice the Camel: Londo/G'Kar - not a love storyalicamel on January 10th, 2009 04:32 pm (UTC)
I love all of these. They are perfect.

*beams* Thank you!

Oddly enough, given that he isn't usually my favourite, I like the Vir ideas best. I'd rather like to read an expansion of the cards story...

Vir is my firm second favorite, i.e. while I might not love him best, I do love him continuously and without reservation, whereas my love for Londo means I also want to punch him a lot of the time, and yet he is my favourite. (But then that's the Londo effect!). Also, I feel guilty when heaping yet more angst on him, but I could not resist giving him the angst prompt anyway. Whereas the image of Londo teaching Vir how to cheat just made me smile.

I really don't have the time to write out these stories, but if you're in the mood for Vir tales, with and without Londo, here are several I wrote in years past, in order of show chronology:

First Encounters
(What the title says)

Man of good fortune Vir in early s1

Miracles - set in late third season

Knowing Love - Fourth Season

Survivors - Vir post show

Miracles is definitely my favourite of those. I didn't care so much for 'Knowing Love' maybe the tense was the problem.

You really do have an ear for Londo's voice.

Oh, these are wonderful. I think AU, First Time, and UST are my favorites, but I love them all.
Selena: MarielMemoirsselenak on January 10th, 2009 07:18 pm (UTC)
:) I pondered over "First Time" the longest because I actually wrote two first time stories for them already, and didn't want to repeat what I did there. But then it occured to me what a simple change of perspective could do.*g*

I LOVE YOU, ZOMG. These are excellent. My favourite is the smut - smut, hell, that made me all glowy inside. You may have to re-name that one to 'feel-good'.
Selena: LondoGkarselenak on January 10th, 2009 10:24 pm (UTC)
It was definitely designed to evoke feelings. *g* Thank you, doll.

I... actually want to write all the Vir ideas. Especially the "Fluff" prompt. Hee!

Feel free. I'd love to read new Vir fic from you!

These are wonderful - I'm unable to pick a favourite, but I feel terribly sorry for Talia. I can only imagine she spent a lot of time during the first season resisting the urge to shout 'get a room!'
Selena: LondoGkarselenak on January 11th, 2009 12:22 pm (UTC)
No kidding. The fact she never said it out loud should be a tribute to her professionalism.:)

Oh, I love these. And surely I'm not only in wishing you'd expand that crackfic further?
Selena: MarielMemoirsselenak on January 12th, 2009 10:34 am (UTC)
You're at least the first to say so.*g* Mind you, one can blame it all on JMS - Londo and G'Kar did participate in that Minbari ceremony doubling as a marriage ceremony, there was an exchange of looks, they both ate the red fruit, and Sinclair even joked about them getting married at the end of the episode. Canon, I tell you!
kiku65 on January 10th, 2010 10:39 pm (UTC)
The first time one is the one I'd want to see expanded most, but the humour and UST ones are definitely the ones I can see happening as an episode ^_^

Well, I can really see all of them happening as an episode, really...
Selena: LondoGkarselenak on January 11th, 2010 02:20 pm (UTC)
Aw, thank you. :) I had great fun writing all of them.
